Biography
Thayne Coffman graduated in 1996 from the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology with B.S. and M.Eng. degrees in Computer Science
and Electrical Engineering. His studies emphasized signal
processing and artificial intelligence. During school he held an
internship at Hughes Network Systems. After graduating, he worked
on sales configuration software compilers and engines at Trilogy,
and is currently doing inexact subgraph isomorphism and social
network analysis research at 21st Century Technologies.
He began classes and work towards a PhD at the Laboratory for Image
and Video Engineering under Dr. Alan Bovik in the fall of 2002. His
research interests include visual search, image understanding,
computer vision, inexact pattern matching, social network analysis,
and automatic target recognition.
