Biography
Changhoon Yim received the B.S. degree at the Department of Control and Instrumentation Engineering of Seoul National University, Korea, in 1986, the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Korea, in 1988, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, USA, in 1996.
He was a research engineer working on HDTV at Korean Broadcasting System, Korea, from 1988 to 1991. From 1996 to 1999, he was a Member of Technical Staff in HDTV and Multimedia Division, Sarnoff Corporation, NJ, USA. From 1999 to 2000, he worked at Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, NJ, USA. From 2000 to 2002, he was a Sr. Software Engineer in KLA-Tencor Corporation, CA, USA. From 2002 to 2003, he was a Principal Engineer in Digital Media R&D Center, Samsung Electronics, Suwon, Korea. From Mar. 2008 to Jan. 2009, he was a visiting scholar for research in the LIVE Lab, The University of Texas at Austin. He is currently an Associate Professor in Internet and Multimedia Engineering, Konkuk University, Seoul, Korea. His research interests include multimedia communication, video compression, and image processing.
