Welcome to the LIVE-Qualcomm Subjective Mobile In-Capture Video Quality Database

LIVE-Qualcomm Mobile In-Capture Video Quality Database

Introduction

Video content delivery and consumption over wireless networks grow exponentially as mobile devices and video applications are widely used. Specifically, the plethora of commercial hand-held mobile video capture devices produce videos often afflicted by a variety of complex distortions generated during the capturing process. These in-capture distortions are not well-modeled by the synthetic, post-capture distortions found in existing VQA databases. Towards this end, we have created a new mobile video database called the LIVE-Qualcomm Mobile In-Capture Video Quality Database that models in-capture distortions. This database consists of a total of 208 videos captured using 8 different mobile devices which model six common in-capture distortion categories. We also conducted a subjective quality assessment study using this database, where each video was assessed by 39 unique subjects. We hope that our database will serve as a valuable resource to enable the efforts of the research community to build better video quality predictive models and to benchmark their performance to advance the state-of-the-art.
